چکیده
Aim: To evaluate features of changes liver function tests (LFTs) in COVID-19. Methods: We included 50 patients with confirmed COVID-19 and abnormal LFTs. The average age was 55 [46; 66]. 45 (90%) were associated pneumonia. Lung damage involvement according to lungs computed tomography ranged from 5% 70%. Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), total bilirubin, gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), quik’s prothrombin protein analyzed. Results: debut cytolysis on 8 [7; 11] sick days ALT levels elevated 2,28 [1,41; 3,27] times. An increase AST correlated (r=0,86; p<0,05), it 2,08 [1,44; 3] De Ritis ratio 0,73 [0,49; 1,15]. Only 2 (4%) had hyperbilirubinemia. 60% an GGT - 1,92 [0,79; 3,05] 1,79 times ALP one patient only. Many not signs hepatocellular insufficiency only 5 (10%) decrease Quik’s prothrombin; hypoproteinemia observed 7 (14%). LFTs reversible, normalization achieved 67%, 76% within a month. (r=0,52; p<0,05) (r=0,48; ferritin. Conclusions: Abnormal characterized by ALT, AST, decreased de ratio. Total ALP, normal most patients. identified the majority cases returned

Abnormal Liver Function Tests
LFTs are not specific to specific systems or disease processes, yet abnormalities may indicate significant or serious disease. Interpreting abnormal LFTs and trying to diagnose any underlying liver disease is a common scenario in Primary Care. Single abnormalities in LFTs are difficult to localise and diagnose [2] . However, the pattern of abnormalities tests helps determine origin of the issue...
متن کاملAbnormal Liver Function Tests:
Serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase that exceed 1000 IU/L indicate acute viral hepatitis (A, B and, rarely, C), acute drug toxicity (eg, acetaminophen overdose or isoniazid hepatotoxicity), or ischemic liver injury. In chronic hepatitis (ie, hepatitis B or C or autoimmune), values range from mildly elevated to usually less than 400 IU/L. Elevated levels of al...
متن کاملPrescribing in patients with abnormal liver function tests.
BACKGROUND The prescribing of medicines to patients with abnormal liver function tests (LFTs) requires careful consideration. Every effort must be made to establish the cause of the abnormal liver function. Whether the patient has cirrhosis also needs to be determined, as this will have broad reaching implications for prescribing. OBJECTIVE Two aspects of prescribing medications to patients w...

Background: Exposure to lead, damages vital organs and is now a global concern. Toxic effects of lead on the liver and thyroid gland have been mentioned previously, sometimes with conflicting results. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess changes in liver and thyroid function tests in patients with lead poisoning. Methods: This case-control study was performed on 100 patients with clini...
